Tips on A New Course

PLAYING A NEW COURSE FOR THE FIRST TIME

So you're playing a golf course for the first time and you walk in to the pro shop to get set up for your tee time.

Here's a few things you should do to get ready for your round.

1.  Ask the Assistant behind the counter if he can give you some quick tips on playing the golf course.  Don't ask the Head Professional, they never play golf so they really don't have the best scoop, lol.

2.  Ask about the greens and if there is some tips on speed and which direction the green roll faster.

3.  Ask about any local rules that you need to know about.

4.  Hit some balls at the range and warm up but spend the majority of your time on the putting green.  This is all about getting a feel for how fast the greens roll.

5.  Find out what the Marshall's names are so you can be on a first name basis with them.  Marshall's can be very helpful and if you get to know them they will spend their time helping you.

6.  Don't forget about the beverage cart person.  Being on a first name basis with them and tipping them well will help you get the beverage service you all want!

7.  Enjoy your round.  Keep up a good pace and make sure you go in after your round and give your feedback on the course.  It's always good to be on a first name basis with the golf staff.

When you've played a course you really enjoyed make sure you join our forum page and let us know how it went and whether you would recommend this course again.  We all want the inside scoop!!!!!!
